Etc Surfboards was founded by a local Sunshine Coast surfer with over 35 years of surfing experience, Steve has always had an interest in the constantly changing and evolving technology in surfboard designs.
Having surfed a massive variety of different styles of surfboards from wafer thin, massive rocker “Pro-style” boards, Malibu’s, Mini-Mals, fish, retro, alternate, Mini-Simmons and the modern-day short boards. Steve saw the one thing these boards have in common is that many are built using toxic laden, carcinogenic, petroleum chemicals that can be detrimental to the health of surfboard shapers in addition to impacting the environment - non eco friendly surfboards to say the least.
Steve became interested in crafting surfboards using more eco friendly and environmentally sustainable materials to maintain high professional level performance to outlast and outperform other rival surfboards.
An Etc Surfboard is durable and will easily outlast any Polyurethane (PU) surfboard for years. Not only does an Etc Surfboard's performance rival other surfboards, they will still look as amazing in years to come. Each etc surfboard is designed and developed using CAD software, hand-cut from a solid block of foam, hand shaped, glassed and sanded by Steve himself. Each Etc surfboard is a unique individual as it is crafted as a "once off" making it a piece of art in itself.
Not only are you getting a high performance surfboard that will last years, you can also rest easy knowing you are helping make a difference by purchasing a more sustainable, environmentally eco friendly surfboard that is shaped and crafted in Australia.
